Good morning everybody. How are we?
I have to say that since I have returned back from holiday I am feeling pretty great. I am feeling so grateful and happy for everything in my life. Life has its ups and downs fo sho and there were a few downs on holiday… but I am just so bloody grateful for all the wonderful people and shizzle in my life. I really am very blessed.
Anyway, soppy, vibrating high Lozza intro over…
I am starting to get inspired to get in the kitchen again. As you all know, creating delicious recipes always excites me and I love cooking. After a long day at college or work, it is meditative for me to just get chopping and cooking a recipe.
Like I always say and I will say it again, I am no professional chef. I am just a normal gal who loves food and sometimes manages to throw a few ingredients together that become a decent and tasty recipe. I hope that I can inspire you to fall in love with food again if you have had a past life of restriction, worry and control around food. Food can be fun again.
So for this recipe… There is this place in Sydney called Zeitgeist that does the most insanely delicious smoothie called Commando Ed. It is legit the nicest smoothie I have ever had and every time I get it, the divineness of it all just gets me all giddy. It is SO freaking good.
I thought I would try and re-create the bad boy at home because although I bloody love it, at $10 a pop, I canny afford it as a daily occurrence. If you can afford it though and you live in Sydney, make it apart of your life. You won’t regret it.
So in their smoothie we have banana, peanut butter, vanilla protein powder and coconut water.
In my version, there is a little twist of some added cinnamon. Because I am Lauren Kennedy and I can’t seem to make a recipe without putting cinnamon in it… Because cinnamon.
Without further ado…
Cinnamon, Vanilla, Peanut Butter and Banana Smoothie – Serves One
2 small or 1 large very ripe bananas (have to be ripe!!)
1 heaping tbsp of peanut butter
1 tbsp of vanilla protein powder (I used this one just because it is my fave, no affiliation).
1 cup of milk of choice (I used oat milk because it is what I had in, but I have made it with both almond and rice milk too).
1/4 tsp of cinnamon
- Pop it all in a blender and whizz it up until smooth.
- Pour into your favourite glass and enjoy!
