Favourite Five From The Week

Happy Happy Happy Monday. I am late again on this post. Oops. It is supposed to be posted on a Sunday but it was that time of the month and I was a frazzled head freda. Looking at my laptop is the last thing I wanted to do, so naturally I put on First Dates Hotel after asking my sister for some shit tv recommendations. Omg I nearly cried at poor Bruce. Nicest.Guy.Ever. I hope he finds someone lovely soon 🙂

I am still feeling pretty foggy headed, I think I need to get my iron levels checked again… but life goes on… Anyone else’s time of the month literally take it out of them!?

Anywayssss, enough period talk… I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and that you have some awesome self care planned this week. I made my self a bad man smoothie full of fruits and veggies this morning, as I felt like my body was craving all the fruits and veggies. And I did a cheeky headspace mediation – LOVE those. I have got to get a good hold on all of the moving shizzle today. Moving back to the other side of the planet means there are some tricky bits and bobs that need sorting out…

Now, on to the favourite five from the week…

  1. An Open Letter to the Man Bothered by Lady Gaga’s “Gut” – From the lovely Whitney at the Sometimes Always Never Blog. I literally loved this post. I can’t get over the people commenting on Lady Gaga’s body. But that is diet culture and the ridiculous body ideals our society pushes…
  2. Challenging the Assumptions of the Weight Normative Paradigm (or What we Get Wrong About Weight & Health) W/Dr.Linda Bacon Author and Researcher of Weight Inclusive Health – From the fabulous Laura Thomas PHD. This is a super important listen to show that maybe weight is not the health indicator we were always lead to believe… Whilst you are at it, read all things from Linda Bacon…
  3. Your Body Can Process Everything…It’s Your Mind That Gets in the Way – From the brilliant Kylie Mitchell. I feel like I have linked to her blog every week. She just talks a lot of sense around food that helps you have a healthy relationship to it, as well as your self. I haven’t had a chance to read all the comments yet (it is a discussion based comments section/forum to help other people for this post), but I hope to soon!
  4. Why the “Perfect Body” Won’t Make You Happy – Food Psyche podcast with the lovely Sarah Vance. This was such a great listen and I highly recommend it.
  5. Smashed Potatoes With Pesto – From the genius food blog, Minimalist Baker. Two of my favourite things together – potatoes and pesto – enough said.

So there we have it. The favourite five from last week.

I hope you all have a fabulous week 🙂

Tell me something fun that happened for you this weekend.

L xx
